Making Arts Education Accessible in Iowa

  • A Christian fine arts vocational school

  • Tuition fully covered by the ESA for grades K-12 in the future

  • Iowa's first pre-K-12th grade Montessori School

  • Personalized education with 20 students per grade level (300 students total)

  • A fully supportive therapist dedicated to each class

An Idea to Change the price of education

When the Students First Education Savings Accounts were passed in the state of Iowa, tuition was mostly, if not completely, covered by the amount given by the state. Since then, most private schools in Iowa have almost doubled their tuition making private education almost impossible for those who were first eligible for coverage. It is our goal at The Conservatory for Worship Arts to take money out of the equation by having tuition completely covered by the ESA when we gain our full accreditation. Through the American Montessori Society accreditation is typically a 4-6 year process.

We expect to be fully accredited by 2026.

Knowing the value of the arts

Arts Education continues to get cut throughout the nation, however, we all know that it benefits children and society in immeasurable ways. At TCWA children would have a full arts education starting in preschool and leave school with the ability to pursue the Arts on a professional level. The genres of arts would include vocal performance, musical instruments, dance, photography, videography, and audio engineering.

The first and only prek - 12th Montessori School in Iowa

An accreditation candidate with the American Montessori Society, TCWA will be the first and only accredited Montessori pre-K-12 school in the state of Iowa.  While full Montessori schools are common on the coasts, they have yet to come to Iowa.  A Montessori education fosters creativity, hard work, independence, confidence and allows for pursuing a vocational education, equipping students to leave high school ready to work in their chosen arts profession.

Mentally healthy students

We hear about suicides and other mental health crisis far too often in Iowa. Partnering with a therapy office, there would be a licensed therapist residing over each classroom to give group, and if needed, individual therapy sessions. We want students who are healthy in every way.

Toddler preschool (Ages 18 mo-3 Yrs)
Opening fall of 2025

Toddlers are looking for a place to be independent. That "Do it myself" mentality is built into them for a purpose. At TCWA we help them grow in confidence and skill through the amazing Montessori method.

Learners at this stage go through 8 specific stages or periods of development. Having a deep understanding of this allows teachers to truly serve students in the period they are at.

This 18 month to 36 month old program meets Monday through Friday for half days. A beautifully, small class of children, accepting only 14 students for the year, means your child gets the attention they need to thrive.

The path to a full Christian arts education

IMG_1786.HEIC
  • Weekly dance, music, and art classes

  • Teachers are all accredited and certified Montessori teachers

  • Half day or full day options

  • Currently accepting CCA, beginning with TCWA's opening CCA will fully cover tuition, allowing underprivileged children the ability to have a world class education

Preschools connected to public schools do not have full day care which allows the working parent to place their child in preschool without also paying for daycare and transportation.

This causes an educational divide in that lower income families are often unable to place their child in preschool, and thus, are not given the advantages that other children have because of income. At TCWA it is our desire that income is not a deciding factor in the level of a child’s education and would be available to all.

CCA would cover about $165.50 per week while childcare costs in a center are often as high or more than $300 per week. When our addition is complete,  tuition would be completely covered by CCA for those that are qualified. This makes a world class education not just possible but even more affordable than daycare! Mezzo Piano
Lower Elementary (Ages 6-9)
Opening fall of 2025

Children are capable of so much more than we give them credit for. At TCWA our classes would be grouped by development instead of strict grade levels. This is a foundational element of the Montessori classroom and allows for students to move and thrive at their own pace.

Our children’s choir would be modeled after One Voice Children’s Choir and allows students to record, perform, and tour, sharing their love of music.

Dance would take the place of PE classes with students learning an international syllabus by the Royal Academy of Dance. Creative Director Anna Johnson is the only person in Iowa eligible to enter students for international examinations through the RAD.

Each school day would begin with a worship session bringing all the students together as one body to worship, led by upperclass students.
